JOHN BAIER, OWNER AND PRINCIPAL BROKER
John Baier discovered his love of boating while growing up in Long Island, New York. After moving to California during the 1980s he was a professional yacht broker, manager and vice-president of Rex Yacht Sales, a Cheoy Lee Authorized Dealer, in Sausalito and Newport Beach. John traveled to Hong Kong frequently as he sold, commissioned and delivered numerous new Cheoy Lee Yachts to the West Coast for clients. In 1991, John started his own brokerage, Oceanic Yacht Sales, and became the Authorized Dealer for Grand Banks Yachts making him one of the oldest GB dealerships in the world today. Oceanic has completed well over 1000 transactions in new boat and brokerage boat sales while remaining in the same sales location at Clipper Yacht Harbor, Sausalito, for over 20 years. John is known and respected throughout the boating industry in this country, for his knowledge, honesty and professionalism.
Rick Peterson found his love of boating while growing up in the Midwest. In the late 1970s he founded Peterson Design, a furniture and product design business which he then sold in 1995 before moving to California. There Rick worked for a number of Silicon Valley product development firms primarily in the capacity of marketing and management. In 2005, Rick decided to pursue his true passion and became a sales person at Ballena Bay Yachts selling Nordic Tugs. In 2006 he became a Professional Yacht Broker when he moved to Orange Coast Yachts, then the Authorized Dealer for Ocean Alexander. Rick proved to be not only an outstanding sales person but he also managed the firm's East Bay office until moving to Oceanic Yacht Sales. Rick's strong management and marketing background as well as dedication to superior customer service can give Oceanic's clients confidence that the purchase and/or sale of their yacht will result in success.
